If you have wood decking, you’ve likely experienced mold or mildew at one point. During our cold and wet winters, wood becomes an ideal breeding ground for both. Mildew and mold aren’t just eyesores — they can be safety hazards as well, as they create slippery surfaces and can damage your wood deck. The Solo 400-1G Economy Sprayer can help you get the upper hand on algae, mildew and mold just in time for spring!
Start of by blowing or sweeping the area to get rid of twigs, leaves and loose dirt. Pay attention to corners, and if any repairs or maintenance are needed, do it now. Check your railings to make sure they are secure, screw down any loose boards and readjust pavers that may have shifted over winter.
Rinse the area with clean water, then use your sprayer to apply cleaning solution quickly and evenly. We are happy to recommend the best solution for your application! Stay away from bleach, which can lighten wood and even weaken it by breaking dow the polymers that bind it together.
You’ll find that reaching deep corners and crevices, even in low places, is easy with the Solo 400-1G Economy Sprayer. Apply your solution as directed and give it time to work, then, if necessary, scrub the deck to remove the root of the mold.
After the area has been thoroughly cleaned, rinse off the solution with clean water and let it dry completely before placing plants and furniture.
